Marta Cruells holds a PhD in Intersectionality at the Institute of Government and Public Policy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is currently assistant professor at the University of Girona. She has been the scientific coordinator of several projects, among them she coordinated –jointly with Noelia Igareda- the Project Women, Integration and Prison (financed by the Fifth Framework Programme of the EU).
Her research and publications concern political intersectionality, human rights, equal policies, social exclusion, gender mainstreaming and social movements. Her articles appeared or are forthcoming in the European Journal of Women’s Studies, Research on Social Movements, Conflicts and Change, or Athenea. She also coedited the books Women, Integration and Prison (Aurea, 2005) and The Democracy of the Future (Icaria, 2013).
